AJAX KeyPad Plus
There are several ways to control the AJAX security system.
You can install it all with your smartphone, which of course also allows you to activate or deactivate the system.
The AJAX KeyPad Plus with RFID reader wireless is a control panel for the AJAX alarm system, ideal for the entrance hall of a house or business premises. It is also possible to easily turn on and off the alarm system with the RFID Card or Tag. It’s possible to use multiple codes.
With the AJAX KeyPad Plus you can create additional users without having to create anJAX account first. Just create a new user and give him/her access to turn on and off the alarm system.
Where to mount an AJAX KeyPad Plus
The Keypad Plus is meant to be mounted inside a house, preferably in the room behind the entrance door. For most people this will be in the hallway of their home that leads to the front door and the living room. A KeyPad Plus is not meant to be mounted outside, as they are not waterproof. As soon as you enter the hall, you have a few seconds to enter the disarm code. You do not need a smartphone or a remote control to switch off the system. This is convenient, and everyone in the family can do this, even the younger children without a smartphone. On the KeyPad Plus you can also see the status of the alarm system, whether it is switched on or off, and whether it is in night mode. All this is done by means of the light on the KeyPad Plus. This Keypad Plus has a built-in siren so you can hear the activation and deactivation delay.
Disadvantages AJAX KeyPad
The room where the KeyPad Plus is mounted should have a delayed alarm, meaning that you have to set the detector in this room to send an alarm signal after a few seconds.
Because the KeyPad Plus is placed in the house, you always need a few seconds, usually 30, to get the time to enter the correct code and thus disable the system. This deactivation time is also given to possible burglars who are already in the hallway at the front door.
Every disadvantage has its advantage
The advantage of setting delay times is that this can be done per detector, so that only the room in which the KeyPad Plus is present is alarmed with a delay, the other rooms such as the kitchen and the living room, for example, can be alarmed immediately upon detection. If a burglar goes into that room, the alarm will still go off immediately.
Remember: the room with a KeyPad Plus and a motion detector such as MotionProtect will always be programmed with a delayed alarm because otherwise there is no time to enter the code on the KeyPad Plus.
How to avoid alarm delay
Giving time to possible burglars can be avoided by programming all detectors in the house without delay and disabling the alarm system via a handheld transmitter called AJAX SpaceControl instead of a KeyPad. Or simply switch off the alarm system via the AJAX app on your smartphone.
